As part of our continued efforts on securing TSMC data, access and devices, we are retiring our VPN multi-factor authentication (MFA) software, HID ActivID, and replacing it with PingID for authentication.

Below are the instructions to use TSMC VPN. VPN (Virtual Private Network) is a technology that allows your computer to be on TSMC network even if you aren’t at the office. VPN is only necessary if you are at home, or any facility that isn’t a TSMC. You will need the following:

  • Be in front of your computer. 
  • Have an active internet connection. 
  • Have your smart phone.
    1. Android – Requires Android 5.0 or later
    2. iOS – Requires 9.0 or later
    3. YubiKey compatible

 

  1. On your Smart Phone, ensure that the Ping ID app is downloaded and configured. If the app has not been installed, please follow these steps:
    1. Download and install the PingID app on your iPhone:
      1. App StoreOn your mobile device, open the iPhone Apps Store (), search for PingID, and tap Install.
  2. Copy and paste this link into your Chrome browser: https://desktop.pingone.com/savemart/
    1. Sign in with your Active Directory ID and password.
      1. E.G.: V12345 
      2. If you do not have the password, please reach out to InfoSec@savemart.com
  3. Click on your name in the upper right-hand corner of the website and select iD Devices.  
  4. Click on +Add. This generates a QR code and pairing code.
  5. Open the PingID app on your phone, accept all prompts and scan the generated QR code.\

 

6.  Complete your profile by choosing a Nickname:

  


 

 

7. On your computer, navigate to Start > All Programs > Cisco > Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client and open the program called Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client.

8. On your computer, the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client window will open. In the box to the left of the Connect button, type: smartconnect.savemart.com. Click on the Connect button.

 

 

9. On your computer, a Username and Password screen appears. Your Active Directory account will be used here. For the Username, enter your Employee Number. In the next field, enter in the Password associated with your Employee Number:

  

 

 


10. On your computera new screen appears asking to select a device. Please select your device by number and press continue:

 

 

11. On your Smart Phonedepending on how the phone is configured, you will receive the following Push Notifications: 


a. An authentication notification requesting for a fingerprint:

  

 


b. An authentication notification requesting for an Approve or Deny:

 


 

 

12. If successful, on your computer, the VPN AnyConnect Client will display Connected:
