Problem Statement:


Users are connecting with Microsoft remote desktop app (client version) to WVD but are not getting the 2nd monitor to extend

Users are using the app and are in the correct AD group( WVD-MM-USERS)


Resolution Statement:

  • If user is already signed into a WVD session, have them sign out.
  • Have user launch Microsoft remote desktop app  
  • Locate Desktop Session and right click to access settings (see photo)



  • Locate settings on the far right side of the screen (see photo below)
  • Toggle the use default settings to OFF 
  • Display settings should be set to the following:
    • Display configuration = All Displays
    • Single display when windowed = Off
    • Fit session to window = On


  • Close session by hitting X above to save settings
  • Have user Launch the session as normal and dual monitors should be back to normal
