Symptom:

Cannot print from CT2020 to the receivers printer (.49)

Problem Statement:

If CT2020 cannot send print jobs to the printer, usually due to the printer having a hardware issue, CT2020 will stop sending print jobs and will disable its CUPS program (CUPS acts like a print server).

Even when the printers hardware has been fixed the CUPS does not automatically turn back on and will require user intervention.

Resolution:

1.  Log into the stores CT2020

2.  Go to the Utilities menu

3.  Select option Cancel CT2020 Print Jobs

4.  Select Shell

5.  Run this command lpstat -t

6.  This will list all printers and display the printer status (see photo)

7.  Locate the printer name that reads disabled (printer backroom disabled since..)

8.  Run this command to re-enable the CUPS program  sudo /usr/sbin/cupsenable backroom   (*or other name of the printer needed)

9.  Type in Exit and test print jobs
