This document (attachment) was distributed on 12/21/19 to Help Desk and Field Techs along with the first group of stores receiving the scales.  Rollout began January 6, 2020

Communication to the stores:

To all store managers,

We are about to roll out new countertop scales to your meat department!

If you have a countertop scale in your meat department, it will be replaced with a brand new Bizerba countertop scale in the next month. If you also have an old hand wrap station with a Hobart scale on it, we will be replacing those with a new Bizerba hand wrap station as well!

What you need to do to prepare!

First, make sure that you order the proper tag stock for the new scales. They will take the same tag stock as a Digi scale does, which you can currently order from the warehouse as one of the following numbers:

  • FoodMaxx label – 811040-FM
  • Save Mart label – 511531-SM
  • Lucky label – 511416-LKY

If you are already using a Digi scale in your meat department, you may just want to get some additional label stock so you have enough for the countertop scales as well!

Second, this scale is a bit different than your current scales and, although the screens are similar to those of the Hobart scales, there are other features you will want to know about, and you will definitely want to know how to install the paper! Make sure you have someone available on the day of install to go over some of the features and details on loading paper. All scales come with self-help videos on them. Your field tech will show you where to find them and how to load the paper when they install them. Attached is a user training guide that you can review with your folks. We will have one color copy to go with each scale we place in your store for reference.

Your new scales will arrive by company truck the week before your install date. A schedule will be coming to your attention via email the week before your rollout as we finish preparing your pallet for shipping. Please do not open them, just sit them aside for your field tech. Your old scales will be sent back in the boxes the new Bizerba scales came in. This includes your old hand wrap stations. Everything will go back on the pallet it arrived on and a company truck will be scheduled to pick it up the week after your install. The field tech will take care of everything to get them set up and the old scales returned, including shrink wrapping the pallet for the truck picking them up.

We look forward to giving you your new scales and letting you enjoy their use!
